are a family owned company, specialising in custom yacht builds
and boat refits. The Dockland beside picturesque Whangarei
Harbour, New Zealand, is the ideal environment for our business.
We have easy access to the water and can haul out vessels
up to 85 ft with our on-site travel lift.
Services
we provide include:-
Custom builds constructed to the designers/owners specifications.
Power or sail, monohull or multihull. F.R.P, wood or composite
construction. We are capable of building to any applicable
Standards of Classification Societies. General F.R.P. fabrication.

Refits constructed to the designers/owner's specifications.
All manner of repair work including general F.R.P. repairs
and fabrication, paint jobs, insurance work, etc.
Facilities
We have three covered bays for construction and assembly work
which have a total floor area of 1700 square metres.
Attached to this building is a number of offices and
a designated stores area.
Portable “tents” are available for additional short-term
refit work.
Yard
We are situated in the confines of Dockland 5’s four acres of hardstand.
Dockland
5 has hardstand area for 70 boats with modern laundry &
ablution facilities. Power
and water are also available to the hardstand sites.
The yard
is on the edge of the Whangarei port, giving us quality access to
the water. A 60 tonne
travel lift is available for hauling out vessels to 85 feet.
We also have access to larger waterfront and haul-out facilities
for larger vessels.
Adjacent
to our yard are All Marine (chandlery),
Silhouette Spars (spar-making/rigging),
Northland Sandblasting and
McRae Engineering allowing easy access to complimentary services.

Our
team includes a wide variety of skilled tradespeople including
Boatbuilders, Furniture Polishers, Marine Painters, Engineers,
Joiners, Cabinetmakers and Fillers/Fairers.
Skill levels are carefully monitored to ensure skill
ratio level between senior tradespeople and trainees keeps productivity
at a maximum. Friendship’s
are dedicated to providing on and off the job training, apprenticeships,
and professional training for all staff.
As
well as having great skill diversity, we also enjoy a wide cultural
diversity. Countries
represented amongst our staff include:
England, Scotland, Wales, Fiji, Friendshipia, Netherlands,
Germany, Switzerland, Canada, South Africa, Denmark, and of
course, New Zealand.
